This book is super cute. My only complaint is that apparently Sir Edgar doesn't become a talking cat until later in the series.
I quickly decided I didn't like the main character. She is on a date and decides to bail because he wanted to talk about things he was interested in like grunge music ( this is written to make it clear that this is a dumb thing to be interested in) and role playing games (even dumber) and not important things like books. Not a specific genre, just books in general. Maybe she had strong opinions on binding techniques.
I didn't find the magic system very interesting either.
So I abandoned the book and moved on to something else.
I was a bit surprised to find that this book contains three shorter stories. Somehow I had missed that.
Despite that, it was still entertaining, and it was nice to get to know our heroes better (there were some definite AWWWW moments for both of them).
What I really like about the characters is that they are human (even if they have / can use magic) - they are neither all-powerful nor perfect, they make mistakes and they can get hurt.
Looking forward to reading more about them. :)
