I don't usually read MC books but when I read this blurb, I knew I had to read it because this series seemed different from the typical MC series. As it turned out, it really is. The Deacons of Bourbon MC haven't been an active MC for 10 years. Sophie's father, Priest, was the President of the club but he died in a motorcycle accident. 4 of the club's members who were exiled 10 years ago, return for Priest's funeral, including Ajax, the club's former VP.

Ajax is a hardcore biker who returns to New Orleans as soon as he gets the news that Priest is dead. He wants to bring the Deacons back to their former glory and he wants to pay his respects to the man who was like a father to him. What wasn't on his plans is his instant lust for Sophie.

Sophie lost her father and she's grieving, but their relationship was far from perfect. Sophie hates the MC lifestyle and the way she was always second in her father's heart. But she stays because she's loyal to him and because she loves the bar he owns. She had a crush on Ajax when she was younger and when he gets back, she can't resist him.

As the first book in this series, there's a lot of questions that remain unanswered like the mystery around Priest's death and why the MC's top four members were exiled ten years ago.

Make You Burn is almost all about the steamy, hot relationship (very erotic, I might add) between Ajax and Sophie. I kept hoping for more info on the club and that the plot was more developed. It's an okay story for the first book in the series. And I'm hoping the next book brings, at least, some answers.
