considering that I am in slight reading slump, i throughly enjoyed this book. I feel like I have to say something first, I saw a criticism that this authors writing was “pretentious” but I highly disagree. I can't lie, many times I was using the dictionary feature on my kindle to see what the fuck a world meant but the authors writing is very lyrical. While I don't feel the characters were super deep and developed, their emotions were which is how we learned about them. this story had me saying “aw” at them fucking over a dead body so like check your trigger warnings. Kyrie and Jack had an incredibly unconventional love, the push and pull between these two was amazing. Kyrie was a sort of FMC I rarely see, imagine Lana from The Mindfuck Series. Jack was the definition of supporting his women, after they got over the whole despising and plotting to kill each other part. Hands down this man would do anything for her, and it was completely reciprocated. He was protective in his own way but let her handle herself bc she was a bad ass bitch. The ending had my heart fucking racing. Truthfully I didn't read the epilogue bc the way it ended was all I needed. I can't wait to read more from this author.
