We listened to this as an audiobook on a long drive but I would have stopped it 30 minutes in if my travel companion wasn't interested in it. (I am not a reader who feels the need to finish a book just because I've started it.) Perhaps if Jim would have read his book it could have been somewhat entertaining. I did not like Jeff Daniels as a narrator as he drawled; I found it difficult to make out what he was saying at times.

This book was not even close to what I hoped it would be. Granted, I love surprises so I didn't do any research on it. Sure, Carrey has a creative and wondrous mind, but I feel like anybody could have written this novel. Just because it was weird (and boy do I love weird things!) doesn't mean it was anything special. Quite simply, it was boring.

This is the first audiobook that made a trip feel longer. To say I was happy when it was over would be an understatement.
