Sera was in hiding and healing animals when she could and then a God walked in the door.

Serket aka Sera was keeping a low profile and moving every couple decades. Being an immortal God in the age of technology having no one notice you never age it is hard with a camera everywhere. Sera stayed on the down low, lived quietly, and healed animals when she could.

Then one day the animal she tried to save turned into a God. Sed said he needed her help to heal another higher God that her familiars poisoned. Time is running out and before her magic disappears altogether, she needs to save him. The problem is that someone is just as quickly erasing her and her magic from history.

Protectors of Poison: Scorpio (B07KFJ35HF, 2018) is the first book in the “Forgotten Gods” series by Laura Greenwood and I already cannot wait until the next book. (Ssshhh I have it right here next to me.)

I do not want to say a lot because this is a novella, BUT...it has everything. What do I mean by everything? It has action, mystery, romance, and oh yeah it has sex. Not the kind of sex I usually go for, but enough to make you say “yes” thank you Sed.

Greenwood gives us a strong female character in Sera, but someone who has been hurt by love in the past. I think the most interesting character though is the villain. I do not want to give anything away, but I would love to have a conversation about the villian and gender identity. (laugh) No the story is not that deep kind of story...that's just me going that deep at 3:00 a.m. this morning (laugh).

Yes, this is the type of story that will keep you up until you finish it. I am not a Scorpio or a Cancer, but Greenwood makes me want to play with one. You will want to too. ✶✶✶✶
