I started the series on the book. this is also my first Julia Quinn. believe it or not, I have yet to even touch the brigitons out of fear of disappointment due to the hype. This story started out wonderfully with its female lead being a strong outspoken girl with a love for the country estate that we like. as many books normally go there is a certain flow that we see where there are two problems before you get to the end of the book. The first problem was the fact that the male lead was the female lead's guardian which leads to a bit of a forbidden love situation but not really seeing that she is 20 and he was 29. but my problem with the book started with the second problem written in. The situation that caused the problem was silly and while it was alright the way the conflict and resolution were written was highly unsatisfying to the point I was thinking that's it. why write it in in the first place when it's more like a filler for your last few pages. so just for that, I dropped to rating to a 3.5 other than that, not a bad story. And for those reading this just keep in mind the reason that I hate the ending so much was because I loved the beginning very much
