It gave me a lot of similar vibes as “Queen Hereafter” by Isabelle Schuler, so if you liked that one this book might be for you.
I wanted a bit more magic and action but this is pretty slow and not much happening. I want some drama, intrigue, consequence of people actions. Not much of that here. It's slow...
The world building is a bit flat, life in a castle seems lonely and dull. I don’t know why but I started picture the castle made out of cardboard.
We are told of wars and rebellious but see none of the results of that. We are also told repeatedly how amazing the MC is from her best friend but I never saw it. And the feminist aspects are blunt and heavy handed.
