Short Review: Georgie (on task from the Queen) is in Nice for the winter to spy on Mrs Simpson and get a stolen snuff box back. As is normal, a dead body shows up and this time Georgie is the one accused.
On the whole this is better than the last two books of the series and Bowen seems to have realized that the “I'm a clumsy oaf that no one is going to love” bit is getting old. Georgie has more confidence here (with some reason because she is both more confident in her detective skills and there are people that are taking her under their wing and helping her work through some of the confidence issues.)
Darcy is more a side character here and that is not all bad.
