Devoured is not an accurate enough word for what I did to this book. While I read it in one day because it was crack, I found myself not wanting it to end. I was smiling at the end of the BONUS epilogue. SMILING AT A BONUS EPILOGUE, that is unheard of until this day.

For being a mafia romance, there was a lightness that I adored. I never once questioned the love between these characters. Both characters with broken childhoods finding themselves falling uncontrollably in love with a person they never expected.

It all started on night when our mobster is running from the cops and flees onto Payton's balcony, these first few scenes you really got to let the suspension of disbelief take hold. Their love was unexpected (and completely obsession on Nero's side) and so unrealistic but god damn did I love it.

One of my biggest qualms in books is the lack of happiness we get to see. The story follows them falling in love and learning all these new things, maybe things are happy for a little, boom third act conflict, and then ending and epilogue. We got so much happiness and this simplistic texts and common shared moments too this story to another level. I loved it.
