I would have adored these books as a kid. Love the smart kids, spy/investigative plots, and awesome nerdy science with instructions how to build things yourself. My kid was a bit young for these - better for 10-12 year olds, but that just means we'll get to revisit in a few years.
Really fun read! Lots of action. I'm not sure how it would go over with reluctant readers, but I really liked the science experiments included in the story. I also appreciate that Nick and Tesla do not snap at each other or put each other down (something that drives me crazy in kidlit, see: Spiderwick Chronicles). I think it may have girl and boy reader appeal. I plan to read them all over time.
