R.A. Salvatore’s New York Times best-selling saga continues as dark elf Drizzt Do’Urden returns to Gauntlgrym with old friends by his side once again, as they seek to rescue Bruenor’s loyal shield dwarf-turned-vampire. But not only do Drizzt and his allies face a perilous journey through the Underdark and the dangers of the undead that lie within, but they must cross through a colony of drow, who would like nothing better than to see Drizzt Do’Urden dead.

Classic Salvatore!
All the characters are back and coming together for a major showdown. Great battles and an ever growing plot. Can't wait to start the next one!
I think I liked the book just because it was nice to see all the companions back again. I missed the power of Aegis Fang and the raw passion of Bruenor. Salvatore brings all that back with effortless ease and merges them back into the current time line. He also lays the foundation for an upcoming war and it will be nice to see the Orcs again. But the fight descriptions are too repetitive and unnecessary lengthy and you almost know who is going to swivel or reverse at any given point. No rush for the next in the series
