I needed that. This series continues to have a lightness and sincerity I wish I saw in more modern superhero stories.
The emphasis in this volume on the importance of support groups, that there are people you can rely on who are happy to help you, was particularly touching. We get to see more Bitewing, more Babs, more ‘hot super powered people are allowed to be goofy and vulnerable', more breathlessly competent fight scenes.
Perfection.
One plot arc is wrapped up and another is started in a way that feels satisfying rather than frustrating. On to the next!
Side note: If you've read the extant Superman: Son of Kal-El volumes, part of this volume will be a repeat (it's not deja vu! 😅).
