Tess used to spend more hours than she'd care to admit playing her favorite computer game, using the nickname Angel. She could pretend her life was different, and she could pretend Arion was just a friend. But a girl needs more to keep her warm at night than pixels, and she traded her virtual heaven for a real-life hell. Now she's on the run from a past she won't talk about, and the only place she has to go is the doorstep of the friend she's never actually met. When Angel disappeared from their nightly games, it nearly destroyed Arion. He threw himself into work and women, but he can't help knowing the one-night stands will never compare to the angel who haunts his dreams. At first, when she shows up soaking wet and scared-shitless on his doorstep, he thinks his prayers have been answered. But the more Arion tries to keep Angel close, the more her fear drives her away. If they are ever going to have a chance for a future, they'll first have to deal with the past that hasn't forgotten her any more than she's forgotten it-and Arion will have to learn how to let her go. No One's Angel is a New Adult (NA) Contemporary Romance about a girl learning to fight back and a boy learning how to let go. It is recommended for mature audiences only due to language and sexual content. (HEA ending and cliffhanger free.)

Loved this book. A must read and a must re-read. Review to come!
I forgot to write a review for this one and could not remember based off other reviews what this was about. I could not remember. I opted to re-read via audiobook and I kid you not, it took a total of 30 secs to remember absolutely everything about the book and what I loved so much about it. It all came rushing back and I was quite proud of my brain/memory. I finished reading the book once again and I was so happy I decided on the re-read.
This book came out during a time NA was making an appearance and I legit not digging the genre. With that said, I kept trying and I am so glad I came upon this one.
Angel and Arion (gamer names) met online while playing games. They spend hours online and develop a virtual relationship. Living on opposite sides of the country and life happening, they lose contact with one another. One day Angel shows up on Arion's door and so their journey together begins. Everything about this book was realistic and so perfectly accurate. I think this book has a special place in my heart because I can totally relate to the budding relationships made online after gaming or chatting for hours. Online chat rooms just became another way to connect with humans all over the world and that was so cool when it first started to be a thing. Nowadays... not so much. I digress. Anyone living at that time can relate to questioning how well you really know someone you have never met and how real that friendship/relationship could be. Equally, you could relate to those moments where you convince yourself that none of it is real except only to realize it absolutely is. It was exciting and insane at the same time. Yet, it is about trusting the process because you never know what you might miss out on. Within reason.
On the flip side, I think Angel's story was handled with a lot of responsibility and sensitivity. All that she was feeling and how she handled leaving her ex are very textbook in terms of abuse. The way Arion tried to manage the situation by being careful with her and allowing her to process certain things was utterly amazing. Not many folks know to do that. I just loved these two and, in the end, they had gone through so much and deserved every ounce of happiness the universe could grant them.
You know in the end that there is still work to do and that it will still be a process but at least they have each other and are dedicated to doing the work to stay together. Sheesh... I am so glad I read it again.
Netgalley provided original arc for an honest review. Re-read was purchased by me.
