I really liked this. There's not a lot of depth, but it isn't that kind of story, just a sweet little romance.

I've never played board games of this kind, and I know very little about them or about how a convention of this kind would work. But everything I needed to know was woven cleverly into the story. So, don't be put off if you don't share the characters' hobby.

Cis reader here, but to me the trans representation was great, just another detail about the characters. It's dual point-of-view, but there is absolutely no exploration of the cis partner's feelings about transness beyond general acceptance, which I prefer as a reader. The trans partner, Aitor, has a little bit of nervousness about Gabriel's possible reactions at a couple points, but nothing major.

I really like that Gabriel is a little chubby and unkempt, and he's easy for me to picture. There's a lot of cute flirting between Gabriel and Aitor, as the title promises, in addition to kissing, body contact, and a good sex scene.

The scenes with Gabriel's teenage niece, who is also trans, are as adorable as the rest of the story. I like that everyone banters a lot throughout the story, and their relationships seem very natural to me.

This is a fluffy short, with no misunderstandings or conflict. I enjoyed it a lot.
