“No Stakes Allowed” picks up after “The Ashryn Barker Trilogy” ends with Lily held in a vampire den and contemplating her fate. Laura Greenwood brings readers up to speed on what has happened to Lily, but I still felt like I was missing something. Like a whole play had gone on that I missed. Yeah, I did miss it. It was called “The Ashryn Barker Trilogy” that I have in my Kindle, but have not read yet.
There is still plenty of action, drama, and romance in Stakes to keep anyone who has not read anything else entertained. I thoroughly enjoyed the story. There are bad guys, then bigger bad guys. Paranormal magic and hidden mysteries are buried within the story-line. Then of course, we have romance. Boy meets girl and does not eat her. I consider this a good thing.
I cannot wait to read the next one and I will have read the previous trilogy in the meantime. You don't have to, but why not, hello it is Laura Greenwood it has to be good. Vampires, fighting, and romance...yup, I am there.
I received an ARC of this book and I am writing a review without prejudice and voluntarily.
