Eh! Some good moments, but also some problematic moments. I think sometimes she still tries too hard in a way I used to find endearing but now find obnoxious.
I love everything Mindy does and this is no different. Funny and personal essays that I will be rereading FOR SURE at a future date.
I was also JUST thinking about how I'd like another book from her. My next dream is for her to write a fiction novel so putting that out there now!!
A great collection of insightful essays about her place in life right now and I recommend everyone give it a try.
This originally appeared at The Irresponsible Reader as part of a quick takes post, the point of which is to catch up on my “To Write About” stack—emphasizing pithiness, not thoroughness..

I really enjoyed Is Everyone Hanging Out Without Me? (And Other Concerns) and Why Not Me?—this has the same kind of humor—and the audio versions of all three are equally charming.
But I don't know, this seemed lifeless? Sweet and genuinely funny, but it left me wanting a bit more. I don't think it was just the length, either.
Mindy never disappoints me, her books are a lot of fun and I can relate a lot with her.
