I know I've said this one billion times about other books, but THIS book is one of my all-time favourite nonfiction reads.

I'd recommend it to anyone who identifies as female. (Though maybe other genders would find it interesting? I really don't know.) I'd love to hear what everybody feels and thinks after listening to/reading it. I listened to it, but will be buying a physical copy to add to my library.

If you've enjoyed Glennon Doyle and Brené Brown, be prepared to add another phenomenal woman to your tribe. Elise Loehnen is a gift, and her impactful book is much needed at this time.

I didn't stop driving to take notes, albeit for this one that had me pull over:

“The late Marshall Rosenberg, famous for creating and training people in nonviolent communication, was a master negotiator, dispatched to save crumbling marriages and flailing peace deals. He spent a lot of time working with parties in high conflict situations, helping each side state their needs. The goal (according to him) of resolution is not compromise—it's satisfaction, which requires feeling heard. Not listened to, but heard.”

This sums up so much of what I've been trying to pinpoint over the past few years about compromise and conflicting needs in relationships of all kinds.
