Urghhh I wanted to like this sooo badly, but I just never connected to the characters or the plot. I've read a lot of reviews that state this book reads like a fairy tale, but to me, it read like a toddler trying to tell a story to get out of going to bed.
It was a mess and it wasn't for me.
this was easy and fun to read and i really ended up loving the characters and the world in the north! i saw (after i was over halfway done w this book) that i should have read caraval first to avoid spoiling things in that series
Absolutely loved being back in this world and loved Evangeline's story. This book definitely was a setup book but I still loved it and never thought the story dragged. It was always moving toward something even if we didn't get any answers to questions.
