Reread Attempt April 2023 - DNF - PG 149

Why?

It is amazing how six years can completely change what you get out of a story. So, personally, the older I get, the less I can put up with drama in romance. I've never liked it, but now, I read it and wonder why the parties involved can't just act like adults.

This book is overly dramatic, with Richard being manipulative and Henry being conniving. I have no patience for this and would rather read a hundred pages of another book today, than attempt to finish this.

(Side note: not sure if I'm moving right to the second book in this series, as my review does state that the romance is angst and drama free. Possibly will.)

Original Review

I'm not usually one for angst and misunderstandings in my romances - but the angst was delightful and the misunderstandings actually believable. And not that there was actually much time for fluff and humor between the two guys, but when there was, it was lovely. (Not to mention the secondary romance that was totally adorable!)
