"Duke Sullivan is the oldest brother of my family's hated rival. He also happens to be my good morning text and the man I have no right to have a secret crush on. Duke is strictly forbidden. After months of keeping our friendship hidden, the stars align, sparks ignite, and we finally give into temptation. Knowing our relationship could never be more than stolen glances and longing looks, we agree to stay secret friends, until two pink lines change everything. With our small town and both our families in an uproar, Duke does the unthinkable. He packs up my belongings and moves me into his house. Despite agreeing to weather the storm together and to try to figure out how to co-parent, living with Duke proves nearly impossible. Every soft smirk, every brush of his calloused hand against my sensitive skin makes me want to burst into flames. It becomes clear, despite the feud, Duke is relentlessly going after what he wants and I think that might be me. I'm the quiet daughter with the wrong last name, but it's obvious he wants so much more than just one night." - back cover

I love this little town, and I looooove grumpy Duke.
He's a caregiver and always will be. He finds a problem and solves it, and is always there to help whether or not he's been asked. He cares deeply for his family and just shows up.
Duke and Sylvie have a secret friendship, as rival families. Both pine for the other, but enjoy their secret texting friendship.
Duke has a bad day and just needs to be with Sylvie. They have a secret beach date, and the steam cranks up to 11. Boom pregnant.
Watching Duke fall more in love with Sylvie as she grows with their baby, is so sweet. He says that he is a coward and doesn't share feelings but he does. Maybe not with words but with his actions. Eventually he tells her that he loves her and it makes me swoon. He's a softie romantic who loves his three legged dog I and an adopted duck.
The families are rivals but he finds a way to bridge the gap to call a mild truce for the sake of them and the baby. The pranks don't stop but they stay harmless without malice.
I wish we had more of their early budding relationship. And I wish we knew more about his cowboy era???
