I was so excited to read Taylor Jenkins Reid's latest book “One True Loves” because I loved her last two novels. I didn't even know the title of this book, I just scheduled the release date into my calendar as soon as I knew it existed (I live for a surprises a little too much), so I didn't have any idea what it was going to be about. (Clever title Ms Jenkins Reid! I approve!)
Tara has an amazing way of crafting sentences and paragraphs that leave an imprint on the heart and mind in such matter-of-fact and profound ways. Her characters always seem like they could be people that you know, and the situations plausible. However, this book fell flat. It was just okay - too sappy and typical for my liking.
In the end I took away a few nuggets of life truths but I mainly thought: “Oh poor, poor Emma Blair - to be loved so deeply by two men. Such hardship, I tell you.” Barf. Haha
