This was a cute, emotional at times, and endearing book. I have to say that I was looking forward to this book since I enjoyed the first book in the series so much. I liked it, a lot, although I felt it dragged a little. However, I had genuine tears...actually, tears is too calm a word, I sobbed at one scene in the book, and for that, it just made the book for me. The writing, the delivery, it was just perfection and anything that can move me that way gets a huge thumbs up and extra star from me. The chemistry between the characters was palpable and I loved the single parent aspect. I thought it was written really well.
John Lane is a wonderful narrator and he continued to prove that in his performance, his voices are distinct, so you always know who each character is. He makes a great child...and female. He has a nice tone, and his inflections are great. The emotional aspects of the book are where he excelled, he just drew me into the scene and it was wonderful.
