Six days to remember. Love or lose him forever.
Remy Kobata has always wished she was destined to be with her best friend, Cam Yasuda. All the way from being neighbors from birth to mixing up magical prank potions together to their “just friends” homecoming date during their senior year in high school, nothing’s a secret between Remy and Cam―except for how much she is in love with him.
Remy is trying to work up the courage to confess her feelings during their winter break trip to Japan, when she gets selected for a mystical tea leaves reading and it reveals that they’re not meant to be together. After they stumble upon a secret magical apothecary in the back alleys of Tokyo, Remy and Cam are offered an ancient soulmate elixir, created before all love potions were banned by the magical government. They each have their reasons for wanting to take it, but what could go wrong with finding your soulmate a little earlier?
Except, after they drink up, their senior year trip flips into the worst vacation Cam has forgotten who Remy is. If she can't help Cam remember her by midnight New Year’s Eve, they’ll both be cursed to forget each other. To unravel their past and rewrite the future, Remy and Cam must travel through Tokyo to rediscover Cam’s memories and make new ones―and maybe even fall in love all over again.

I just finished Our Curse Love by Julie Abe @julieabebooks and here is my review.
All Remy wants is for Cam, her best friend, to be in love with her like she is in love with him. After years of friendship she wants to tell him how she feels and she decides that their trip to Japan is the best place to drop her secret.
On a fun night out, Remy has her tea leaves read. She asks who her soul mate is and she is told she has no soul mate. Feeling devastated, Remy and Cam stumble upon a magical apothecary and are offered an ancient soulmate elixir, something that is banned by the magical government.
What harm could taking it do? The worst is Cam forgets who Remy is and now it's a race against the clock to help Cam remember who she is before he forgets her forever.
I thought this book was super cute. Remy and Cam are so cute together and their friendship already blurs the lines between friendship and love but neither of them seem to know how the other feels. I'm not usually a fan of friends to lovers books because they all feel the same but this one had a magically unique element to it which made it that much more enjoyable.
I loved the idea of them finding all the cool magical places in Japan and the fantasy elements were a real winner for me.
The story is told from Remy and Cam's POV and I don't usually like multiples but the chapters were really short and that made the two POVs very cohesive. I wasn't a massive fan of the little love triangle because I kinda liked the other guy, Taka. I could have seen her being with him and I hate that!
I could definitely see this becoming a series I could become addicted too. All the magical stuff was only just scratched at and I need to know more.
It was beautifully written and I read it in one sitting.
