Our Lady of Mysterious Ailments

This was so good, Ropa is amazing as a character. Just trying to do right by her family and community. Ropa is just trying to earn enough money to help her family move up at least one rung on the economic ladder. Kids are getting sick; adults are burned to death and there is big money to be found. I love how we spend time with Ropa and her thoughts, while trying to puzzle out what in the heck is going on. Another note: I as a rule never read ghost stories or mysteries, so will someone please explain to me how it is that I love this series.
