Sandra Brown is one of my favorite authors for romantic suspense. It's not a genre I read a lot of but when I'm feeling this sort of read, she is one I look for. I was excited to get the chance to read an ARC of Overkill and I really enjoyed this one.

What I loved the best is that this isn't just a story about romance. Nor is it just about a situation that caused devastation, chaos and injustice. It's a great mix of both. You don't get too much of one over the other and, for me, that is perfect. I don't mind romance but I am definitely a happier reader when it doesn't take over the main point of the story. Zach and Kate have great chemistry and was an added enjoyment.

I was engrossed in this one from the beginning. The underlying story of a person's right to life, when they can no longer speak for themselves is a rough subject. I thought the author did well with it and adequately showcased the emotional turmoil and conflict it can cause, especially when dealing with opposing sides.

This is a good one for fans of this author's previous works and also for those who love the romantic suspense genre. I sincerely appreciate the publisher and Novel Suspects for providing me with a review copy. All opinions expressed herein are mine and mine alone.
