this was an interesting read. the first half was ... honestly kind of boring, and i had a really hard time caring. i barely remember anything that happened up to like 50% tbh. but the second half was really engaging, and i feel like once the actual religious cult part of the story kicked in plus a lot of other more interesting action points started happening, i was pretty hooked. i just feel like the first half of the book had a weirdly different tone and just somehow missed me. maybe there was just a little too much happening in this book. the ending was great and i'm glad i read it but i'm feeling a little mixed on the story as a whole.
