2.5/5 - I was really excited to read this book, so it's a shame it was a letdown. This did not give a rom-com as it lacked the romance and comedy.
Honestly, the romance was put on the back burner as much of the story was about Ashanti and Thad's separate lives and issues. The book focused too much on the dog business, her friends and family while Thad focused on opening a bar and his family woes. The “romance” didn't occur until around 70% into the book and it wasn't believable because how they got to that point didn't make sense. There was no chemistry whatsoever, so the love scenes came off cringey. I was bored most of the book. A disappointment.
