I can tell that the authors know the topics well as there appears good explanations for many things. I picked this up because I was trying to learn MFC but this book turned out to be more hampering than helpful. For one, the book is very badly organised - very. For example, print preview and mouse capture is done before even explaining how to create a button. The second problem are the examples - they're way too complex for someone trying to learn MFC and who just picked up C++. For example, rather than just a really simple example plus explanation showing how to create button, a piece of code is shown adding a score of different buttons with little explanation. I guess it could be a good reference for someone who already knows C++ and is trying to master MFC, but for a beginner, they're too much.
