The Male Narrator was so monotoned that I pretty much tuned out his chapters. I did enjoy the plot twist though.
A bit too much angst for me. But under the circumstances, I guess I kind of get it. The book definitely had my heart pumping at the end. Suspense was real.

I can't handle any more of Wes being this much of an asshole while Rain fawns over him. I can understand why bully romances or romances with guys who start off as total douchebags work for a lot of people, but I've learned that they just do not work for me except in very rare exceptions, and this was NOT an exception. Wes has spent the entire first 1/4 of the book blaming Rain for everything (even though literally everything thus far has stemmed from him kidnapping her at gunpoint at the beginning of the book), and when he isn't talking to her like she's a piece of trash, he's sexualizing every movement she makes.
I have mixed feelings about this book, and I don't really know really know what to say about it. Apparently, there are 3 days until the world is going to end and Rain is doing what she needs to get by until then. I was pulled into the story immediately. I loved the premise but there were somethings that bothered me. Don't read past this point if you don't want to be spoiled because I can't write this review without spoilers. Ok so we have Rain who is doing what she needs to do to get by and after learning everything she's been through I understand her choices even if I don't completely agree with how she coped with things. Then we have Wes who literally saves her from a mob of people by kidnapping her a gunpoint and proceeds to use her to get what he needs. He's a jerk but at the same time he keeps saving her from one thing or another and Rain immediately falls in love with him even though he is basically using her. I have to say she's kind of using him too but she's not a jerk. Anyways Rain is also very clingy and needy but also very useful and smart. I can't deny they had chemistry, but this is one of those instances where I couldn't fully get behind the romance no matter how much I was drawn into the story or how they both grew throughout the story. I will say I do want to continue the series though.
