Protecting You

So I understand from the author note and other reviews that this was written as a sort of origin story after the author's other series was done and she'd already written Grace and Asher's story in book 2. I get why she's done this but you can sort of tell it was written as an add on as the pacing was a bit off. We went from childhood besties to “I love you, marry me” very quickly, then the fight happened and everything went to hell.

Aside from that, I think the series has a lot of promise. I really love a small town romance with close knit families, so this is already ticking those boxes. Gram and the Bailey brothers are all so likeable straight away and I'm looking forward to getting to know them all, and the Miles family, more in future books.
