Puppy Love by Jennifer L. Holm and Matthew Holm

An imaginative mouse who likes to read heroic fantasy novels finds herself on the school math team as it prepares to compete for the coveted Golden Slide Rule.

A cute (albeit unoriginal) story about appreciating what you've got but I do not care for the artwork and the plot could have been tightened up. Babymouse has a lot of imagination and her digressions are amusing so I can see how this would be popular.

GAH SO CUTE. I wouldn't have picked this up if it hadn't been children's comics week in class, but, seriously adorable. And very nicely captures the tween angst of wanting to be popular even though the popular kids tend to be lame.
