I really enjoyed this one! These characters are great, and it was action packed all the way through. I just ordered the next three in the series. Love it!
Really enjoyed this one–it finally (if temporarily) got out of New Orleans and to Jane's home turf. It dealt (to some degree, anyway) with most of the hanging plot lines–created a few more to carry through the next few books.
The major story (well, the major two) didn't really interest me all that much, honestly. It was the subplots and the relationships that carried this book. But they were enough. Particularly the Beast portions (but that probably goes without saying).
Like the ending of the last book in the series, this installment ended with more questions and unresolved issues than it started with. However, unlike the last book, I couldn't overlook the magnitude of the issues left unresolved. There were way too many threads (which I applaud Jane for even being able to keep her head on straight) which I didn't mind throughout the majority of the book. But when it got close to the end I could tell that the pacing was starting to unravel and not all the threads were going to be confronted. Also, since the last book, Jane has mentioned that she would push back her feelings on WAY TOO MANY THINGS!! I would like the next book to deal with some of those things because I hate reading the books with the way that they are going to bite her in the ass in the end.
There was one specific twist in the third of the book that really didn't make sense and they way it was resolved in the end was on very shaky ground. I really hope Jane faces some of the conflicts inside herself and learns more about her past. That's one of the major things I like about Beast being in Jane's head: the fact that sometimes she has to confront some of the things she's CONSTANTLY running away from.
