I received Book 2 in this series from the publisher so, of course, being me, I had to grab Book 1 and read it first. I'm glad I did.
Red Flags has a police procedural feel but you get the POV from the forensic side. I loved this. You also get some insight into how things work and why they do what they do. I loved this too and it actually gave more to the story as a whole, at least for me. Honestly, this was like reading something from the ID Channel.
The mystery of the kidnapping was well done too and I was not expecting that outcome. Huge plus for that as lately most stories seem to have the same type of reveal that takes away from my love of this genre. You certainly get an inkling of what may be happening but, for me at least, it wasn't a clear-oh that's what happened- picture.
Definitely recommend this one for fans of police procedurals, who also love strong women characters. You have two women, from different aspects of the crime world that come to work together and I can't wait to see where they go in book two.
