“That was awesome,” Elle said. “Do it again!”
I love the Benson Security team, but - of course - I do have my favorites among them, Ryan being - also of course - one of them. :) That the series finale is finally telling his story (after that whopper of a Ryan-specific cliffhanger in RUN) seems fitting.
Sarah is a wonderful, flawed yet strong and capable shero and turns out to be a perfect match for him. I loved both her and Ryan on their own, but together, they turned out to be an unstoppable team.
Speaking of unstoppable teams... I loved the secondary story arc of the Benson Security guys and gals coming to the rescue. Everyone got their opportunity to shine and remind me again why I love every single one of them so much. They are one large, weird, somewhat dysfunctional found family, and the group dynamics are just... chef's kiss
The suspense kept me turning the pages; this being a Janet book, there were plenty of swoons, smiles, snort-laughing, and also tears. (I'll admit that it was Callum who made me cry first, this time. And it's not even his story! Show-off!)
While I am sad that this is the final book in the series, I can't wait to find out what Janet is going to come up with next!
