Oh! the horror in reading this book aloud to my children! Bullying! Danger! Getting lost and abandoned! Bad guys! Be still my anxiety-prone mother's heart... This was such an adventurous read for us all and there was so much to be had in giggles and conversation as the small nerdy girl saved the rest again, and again. We finished this book with a sigh that it had to end, purchased the next one in the series, and swore to track down and read Shiloh and anything else, like Alice, that we can find from Phyllis Reynolds Naylor.
