Heads up this is a different adapted version of the original, this one is basically a mini adapted simplified version. Here is the original [b:Scarlet, Book 1 10023145 Scarlet, Book 1 (Scarlet, #1) Brian Michael Bendis https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1348440842l/10023145.SX50.jpg 14918610] This is not to in depth this at times can feel like you are reading a summary of a bigger story. It is because you are. I do highly recommend to go read the original. Everything down from the art to to the story is simple. But if you want a light read this comic is for you. And if you want to easily understand the original this helps!!! I will have to review the original cause that one is freaking epic!! Summary:Starting in the city of Portland Oregon Scarlet Rue has had enough when the corrupt hit way to close to home and changes her life entirely. After this she decides to take action starting a civilian led rebellion taking over a city and calling for a change with force. OverviewThis is a very broad comic, as it covers topics we can relate to today. Like police police brutality, corrupt military and government. If you are looking for a light reading comic, that gives you just a hint of civil war, breaking the fourth wall the occasional raw emotions, past relationships, and cop con men.ArtThe art in this graphic novel is lightly satisfying in a good way. As the comic goes on you get a good contrast of the cool shadows of a shadowy alley and night city streets with no lights and underpass. From the transition to warm colors of the day to the bursting colors of a burning city. All of this has a cool gradient like wash for shadows or definition. All this also is simple color pallets that follow the mood of a character or the background seen all of it blends well and the sketch shadowy like line art complements the color.Extras:Hot take: This is your hot chic rebel takes over a city with some satire and snipers. It's a predictable light as a feather read for when you want to sit down for a coffee break or sip tea.Fav Quote:“Were all gonna die someday. I'm riding over the city in my underwear on the way to my military execution... Fuck what they said about me in the yearbook.” - In reference to here “surrendering” and having to be picked up by the military by a helicopter lift and checked for bombs. - (Trust me this is not a spoiler)P.S. READ THE ORIGINAL BOOK ITS GORGEOUS [b:Scarlet, Book 1 10023145 Scarlet, Book 1 (Scarlet, #1) Brian Michael Bendis https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1348440842l/10023145.SX50.jpg 14918610]
