One by one, a number of people of varying ages and backgrounds transform a trash-filled inner-city lot into a productive and beautiful garden, and in doing so, the gardeners are themselves transformed.

I liked the overall themes of the book. I loved how it talked about building a sense of community through people who couldn't have been more different. My problem was that I couldn't feel for any of the characters since each point of view was so short, it didn't leave much time for development.
