Well this was some crazy sh*t. I don't mind a far-out paranormal about a group of cloned humans bred to have extraordinary psychic powers, but I didn't enjoy the chapters written from the megalomaniac evil genius' POV, and there was too much graphic violence. The romance between Seven and Chase is engaging, but I couldn't tell if they really liked each other beyond the attraction, or if they were simply “fated mates.” Plus there was too much action controlled by a deux-ex-machina entity whose powers and limits were never sufficiently explained for my liking. After reading two books by this author that underwhelmed me (after [b:In the Absence of Light 25221242 In the Absence of Light Adrienne Wilder https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1429380178l/25221242.SY75.jpg 70687638]) I will have to conclude that she is not my cup of tea, although I do admire her imagination.
