Okay, I absolutely loved this and I cannot wait for more!
Before I continue on, you've got to know that if you haven't read Night Huntress or Night Prince, there are going to be some spoilers – both in my review and in the book. Read those first, enjoy, and then come back to this.
Okay, so Ian and Veritas! I've been hoping for this couple for A LONG TIME! I knew there was more to Ian and I'm glad to see that we get some more depth to him and some clapbacks at the people, including his friends, who thought he was so one-dimensional. There is also some Vlad mentions <3
There were a few parts I thought were getting a bit much 1. killing demons... I swear the way to do it has changed, and yes I'm going to go back and read First Drop of Crimson to see and 2. Veritas' background is insane! I love her to pieces and her journey, but I feel like more and more supernatural stuff is being added to this world. I'm starting to wonder where the werewolves are haha. So, accept her, but it does push what I was willing to allow in this world.
The thing is, I love the writing, the world, and the characters (Bones and Cat... aren't you supposed to be in hiding?!), so much that I can't even complain much about the additions. The demon killing is honestly the biggest one– I just felt like it became too much. I am dying in wait for the sequel. What will we do once Ian's trilogy is over?!?! There are no other men.... unless we go back to Cat's old teammates :/
