Feist's style is a very entertaining read. The flow of the story is good and paced well and there are no dull moments, even when what seems like history is being recounted. This 4-part series takes place 50 years after the Riftwar (another trilogy) and involves the other side of the world of Midkemia. If you've already read Feist's works on Midkemia and Kelewan, there's no reason no to read more of it, now that it's a whole new generation of characters. Of course, if you're new to Feist, you're probably better off reading the Riftwar first, although there's nothing here that references that; it just gives a better appreciation of the history of things.
