When given the chance to read this book before it's release in exchange for a review, I eagerly jumped at the chance. Having read Leonard's first five books and enjoyed them, I couldn't pass this up and I wasn't disappointed. Faeries, elves, dwarves, humans, magic, adventure, mystery... This book has it all. Leonard is able to weave a tale that drags me in every time. So much so that it annoys me when I have to put his book down to do things that must be done. The characters are well written as they work their way through the events thrown at them. While I wanted to stay with the main characters, I also wanted to see what was happening with the other characters. Although Shawndirea is a prequel to Devil's Den, it is a stand-alone and the first of its own series. I so look forward to the next book in this series.
