Cute, silly fun. As my mom used to say, “there's a pot for every lid,” and apparently that includes 7 -foot green orcs who like to thump people. I read another review that described Dave as “simple but not stupid,” but I'm not sure that's accurate. There were a few too many jokes made at his expense, especially his limited vocabulary (e.g. he thinks “espionage” is “eggs and spinach,” which leads to much misunderstanding). But there's no doubt that the authors love their unique orc and want him to be happy, so pairing him off with a beautiful asexual human who also knows all about dragons is a perfect match. Features lots of appearances from the constantly horny MCs of [b:Red Heir 54236581 Red Heir (Adventures in Aguillon #1) Lisa Henry https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1592949695l/54236581.SY75.jpg 84633640], another strong maternal figure, and lots of dragons (each with their own distinctive personality). Even Scott, the worst self-proclaimed hero ever from Red Heir gets a tentative happy ending, so perhaps this is the series finale. Definitely a good read when you are experiencing winter 2021 COVID seasonal affective disorder gloominess and desperately need a goofy pick me up.
