This was fun, more than a little silly (intentionally) but with enough mysteries to give the little grey cells a workout.

I shot through it and fully intend to read the sequel, mainly because the characters were such fun, but also I am really enjoying the way the author manages to make a preposterous world (in which creatures such as vampires and werewolves are integrated into polite Victorian society) somehow work.

A good break from more serious fare.
