Speak No Evil

I read this one early on in the month and completely forgot to log it. Luckily, I have been keeping reading notes on all of the TOB 2019 books because, to be painfully honest, I have already forgotten a great deal of this book.

I noted that the lack of punctuation of dialogue led to a frustrating read. I also found the writing to be “list style”. A prime example, on pg 54, is when Nigeria is described in this formula: Nigeria is X, it is also Y, it is A, but not B. This shows up pretty regularly throughout the novel and I have never been a fan.
I did care about the characters, though. Enough to speed through to see how it all worked out. I remember how it all worked out.
Ultimately I felt it was more of a character study with a plot thrown in at the end, when it was far too late.
