I do not understand how to critically review a book. That being said,I really enjoyed this book. The plot was easy to follow but still kept you guessing. The character's weren't heavily complex but I will argue that they are realistic with their different life experiences that makes their actions understandable. This book does feature some sensitive topics (SA, Addiction, Abuse, Death) but they contribute to story progression and are not discussed in depth. This book also features WLW interactions that do not feel heavily sexualised and queer relations are represented as much as straight relationships. I highly enjoyed this book and I think that the average queer young-adult fantasy reader would also like it.- Avril She They 2021
