This was such an adorable romance. Jesse and Hunter's relationship goes from being friends to best friends to lovers in such an organic way that I was invested in it right from page 1. They really understand each other well and come to depend on the other without even realizing it. This book is another perfect kind of slow burn and every page that I waited for them to get together was worth it.
Jesse maybe a rockstar with a bad boy image but he is a softie at heart who will do anything to achieve his dreams. His interactions with the kids at Hunter's hospital were so cute and showed how much of a sweetheart he is. Hunter is a workaholic doctor who is devoted to his patients and can't get a hold of his emotions sometimes when something bad happens to the kids. He is also quite lonely and just wants a partner to share his life with. When both of them start spending time together, Jesse gets a friend who has nothing to do with his popularity or music and Hunter gets a partner with whom he can share all his dreams and insecurities.
I loved that both of them gave such important to their friendship and wanted to hold onto it even if circumstances and personal inhibitions prevented them from being more. I really wished the conflict didn't happen and the way Hunter ran away felt very out of character, but I loved the OTT way it was resolved and the epilogue is all kinds of cheesy and cute. It was a lovely and fitting end to their charming love story.
