The National Book Award-winning author of Felix Ever After delivers a beautifully tender story of two grumpy/sunshine, fake-dating actors navigating their love story both on and offscreen—perfect for fans of Casey McQuiston and Alexis Hall.
Logan Gray is Hollywood's bad boy—a talented but troubled actor who the public loves to hate. Mattie Cole is an up‑and‑coming golden boy, adored by all but plagued by insecurities.
When Logan and Mattie are cast as leads in a new romantic film, Logan claims that Matt has “zero talent,” sending the film’s publicity into a nosedive. To create positive buzz, the two are persuaded into a fake‑dating scheme—but as the two actors get to know their new characters, real feelings start to develop.
As public scrutiny intensifies and old wounds resurface, the two must fight for their relationship and their love.
Stars in Your Eyes is a heartfelt, hopeful, and nuanced story about identity, healing, and growth.

Hollywood fake-dating fun. A light and entertaining read to devour on your next vacation.
Found the dialogue witty, the romance sweet and satisfying. It was nice and heart-warming to see two gay leads taking the spotlight.
I really enjoyed this book.
Something about Logan and Mattie's connection felt so pulsatingly real to me, the characters are so incredibly vulnerable, and honest with each other. Especially towards the end when everything makes more sense, it became so soft, so beautiful, I loved it. It would be impossible not to adore these two.
Another aspect that I realy enjoyed is the commentary on movies and how we glamorise movie stars and how we often forget that they are just human too. There is also commentary about being gay and bi, and finding acceptance from family.
I absolutely adored this book, highly recommend it.
