FBI agent Pendergast investigates a series of murders in a small Kansas town, where the killer leaves behind strange clues and symbols. He uncovers a dark secret involving an ancient curse, a failed experiment, and a hidden treasure.

This book is an amazing story with a completely different level and unique twist from the first three books in the series. The identity of the killer is revealed at the end, and it will blow your mind with its shocking and unexpected connection to the plot.

The story also incorporates some ancient native Indian history and mythology, which adds to the mystery and intrigue of the setting. The characters are well-developed and memorable, especially Pendergast, Corrie, and Kelly.
The book is not only a suspenseful thriller, but also a horror novel that will scare you with its gruesome and terrifying scenes.

I enjoyed reading this book and I am looking forward to the next one in the series.
