Stories from Jonestown

I read this book in 2 days. Fondakowski, with a group of interviewers, met with and interviewed survivors of the Jonestown massacre. What a sad story. In the attempt to create a community of love and brotherhood, a group of people followed an insane controlling person to their deaths.
I found this book to be fascinating. The interviewers met with many people with different perspectives on their understanding of how Jonestown came to be. The most interesting thing I read was the dichotomy that the former members felt about their time in the Peoples Temple. Many remember it as the best time of their lives and yet it contrasts with the horror of final moments of the massacre.
This is not an easy book but it is a deep exploration into how a group of hopeful people were led to their deaths by a power hungry man.
