One of the best novellas in the series
One of the more fascinating novellas in the Expanse series, Strange Dogs is the first to show us something truly new in the period between books. There is a subtler touch here than previous novellas, which have either given us a glimpse of a new or established character moment. This book is about Lakonia and its particular weirdness, which we come to observe from the outside for the first time in Persepholis Rising. This is definitely one of the better intermissions in the series.
An excellent novella, even though I had some idea of where it was going. This is partly because of when I read it. I wish I had read this right between 6 ad 7... it would have certainly have created a much different experience with book 7 and a huge difference on book 8. Regardless, one of the best!
